Libertyville: A Beautiful Suburb on the Des Plaines River

Libertyville is located northwest of the City of Chicago, about 5 miles from Lake Michigan. After the 2014 census the population was 20,512. The neighboring suburbs are Mundelein, Green Oaks, Mettawa, and Roundout, as well as Gurnee, Grayslake, and Vernon Hills. The land that is now Libertyville was occupied by the Potawatomi Indians until 1829, when pressure forced them to sell much of their land in northern Illinois to the U.S. government for $24,000 in cash and goods, plus 50 barrels of salt annually. The first recorded non-indigenous resident of the area arrived in 1835. If you live in Libertyville and are in need of exterior home services, call the experts you can trust at All About Exteriors!
